Step 1: Remove the racks and trays
Take out the oven racks, trays, and any removable parts. Soak them in warm soapy water in the sink or bathtub while you clean the oven interior. This softens baked-on grease.
Step 2: Make a baking soda paste
Mix half a cup of baking soda with 2 to 3 tablespoons of water until you get a thick, spreadable paste. This is the magic that dissolves grease safely.
Step 3: Coat the oven interior
Spread the paste over the interior surfaces (walls, floor, ceiling), avoiding the heating elements. Focus on the greasiest areas — the paste will turn brown as it lifts the dirt. Leave overnight or at least 8 hours.
